PARALLEL VIDEO CABLE

A parallel video cable is a multipair cable where each video signal (such as those in CCTV installations, professional video, or broadcasting) travels through its own pair or conductor, and all cables are grouped in parallel within a single outer sheath. It does not refer to “video via a parallel port” (like an old printer port), but rather to its physical structure.

Main characteristics

  • Multiple video channels: Carries several video signals simultaneously, each through its own pair.

  • Analog format: Commonly used for composite video (CVBS), component (YUV), or analog RGB signals.

  • Shielded: Typically shielded to prevent crosstalk and interference between channels.
