PATCH PANEL DATA

A data patch panel (or patch panel) is an interconnection device used in structured cabling networks to organize, manage, and facilitate connections between various network equipment, such as switches, routers, servers, and network outlets in offices or buildings.

How does it work?
A patch panel acts as a central point where all network cables terminate (for example, Ethernet cables coming from different rooms or workstations). On the front side of the panel, there are a series of RJ45 ports (like those on common network cables), and on the back, the permanent cables are connected that run to different areas of the building.

Technicians connect network devices to these ports using patch cords (short cables), which allows configurations to be changed or problems to be solved without moving longer or permanent cables.
