S-VÍDEO ASSEMBLIES

What are S-Video broadcast connections?

S-Video (Separate Video) connections are an analog interface used to transmit video signals by separating luminance (Y) from chrominance (C), providing better quality compared to traditional composite video.

Although not a modern standard in current broadcast production, S-Video was widely used in earlier generations of professional cameras, monitors, recorders, and other equipment because it offered improved image quality and reduced interference. It is identified by its 4-pin mini-DIN connector. In broadcast environments, it is still found in legacy systems or for transferring archival material.
